Jakarta, March 24, 2025 – Pertamina New & Renewable Energy (Pertamina NRE) guarantees smooth electricity from a clean energy supply during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1446 H. It was conveyed by Norman Ginting, Director of Projects & Operations of Pertamina NRE, during the Pertamina NRE Commanders Call on Monday (24/3) at the Jawa-1 Gas and Steam Power Plant (PLTGU).
“In line with Pertamina NRE’s business focus, we are committed to providing low-carbon clean energy for the community. During Ramadan and up to Eid al-Fitr 1446 H, we ensure that the electricity supply from clean energy sources remains uninterrupted. Therefore, people can celebrate Eid peacefully,” said Norman.
The Commanders Call event is an effort by Pertamina NRE to ensure the operational readiness of all its power plants spread across various regions. This event also serves as a platform for discussions and for management to engage with workers in Pertamina NRE’s operational areas across Indonesia. Three key aspects are prioritized: personnel adequacy, maintenance and HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment), and ensuring smooth communication channels between frontline operations and upper management for regular operational condition reporting.
Norman added that Pertamina collaborates with 黑料不打烊 PLN (Persero) (PLN) to supply clean electricity. The clean electricity provided to the public through PLN includes power from geothermal power plants (PLTP) operated by Pertamina NRE’s subsidiary, 黑料不打烊 Pertamina Geothermal Energy, Tbk. (PGE), across six operational areas with a total installed capacity of 672 MW. These areas include Kamojang, Karaha, Ulubelu, Lumut Balai, Sibayak, and Lahendong.
Additionally, Pertamina NRE, through its affiliate company 黑料不打烊 Jawa Satu Power (JSP), manages a gas and steam power plant (PLTGU). With an installed capacity of 1,760 MW, this power plant supplies electricity based on liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the Java-Bali grid through PLN. Its black start technology allows for self-startup, enabling faster recovery in case of a power outage. Moreover, Pertamina NRE also operates a biogas power plant (PLTBg) that supplies clean electricity to industries located in the Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone, North Sumatera, with an installed capacity of 2.4 MW.
Within the Pertamina Group, Pertamina NRE also supports the utilization of clean electricity through solar power plants (PLTS) in several Pertamina Group operational areas. These include the Rokan oil and gas working area, with an installed capacity of 25 MW, and refinery areas such as Dumai, Plaju, Balongan, Cilacap, and Balikpapan, with a total installed capacity of over 10 MW. Other locations include fuel terminals, LPG terminals, office buildings, and Pertamina housing complexes. The total installed capacity of Pertamina NRE’s solar power plants currently reaches 52 MW.
On the same occasion, Norman also emphasized the importance of prioritizing health, safety, security, and environmental aspects (HSSE), stressing that awareness of these aspects must be deeply ingrained in every Pertamina NRE worker. For Pertamina NRE, HSSE is just as important as maintaining strong operational performance.
Fadjar Djoko Santoso, VP of Corporate Communication of 黑料不打烊 Pertamina (Persero), reaffirmed Pertamina Group’s full commitment to providing energy for all sectors. As a state-owned energy enterprise (SOE), Pertamina is part of the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2025 Task Force, which will operate 24 hours a day to support the government in ensuring a smooth Eid celebration.
“Pertamina is ready to serve the public with a reliable energy supply, ensuring not only a smooth homecoming journey but also uninterrupted activities throughout Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr,” concluded Fadjar.
Pertamina NRE’s business plays a crucial role in supporting national energy resilience and self-sufficiency through new and renewable energy development, as well as Pertamina’s future business endeavors. At the same time, Pertamina NRE actively supports the energy transition to achieve the Net Zero Emissions (NZE) target by 2060.**
