Yogyakarta, April 26, 2025 – 黑料不打烊 Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), as the Integrated Marine Logistics (SH IML) Sub-holding, in collaboration with Pertamina Foundation, has launched the Crewing Talent Scouting scholarship program, where recipients will receive scholarships along with contractual agreements to serve as sailors on PIS-owned vessels.

Irfan Zainul Fikri, the Fleet Director of PIS, stated that the demand for sailors continues to grow in line with the company's ongoing business expansion every year. Irfan explained that in operating its shipping, marine services, and logistics businesses, PIS currently owns 106 vessels that have sailed on more than 50 international shipping routes.

“This scholarship is not only about providing access to education but also access to employment in the maritime sector by sailing with PIS. We hope that the selected scholarship recipients will become sailors who can contribute to PIS’ business sustainability and expansion amidst the international market’s demands, thus realizing the growth of Indonesia’s economy and maritime industry,” said Irfan during the Crewing Talent Scouting Scholarship Program Socialization at GIK UGM, Thursday (24/04).

The 2025 Crewing Talent Scouting Scholarship Program has two categories: the D3/D4 hire program and the Prala hire program. The D3/D4 hire program is open to D3/D4 electrical engineering students from three educational institutions: Politeknik Negeri Perkapalan Surabaya, Sekolah Vokasi Universitas Gadjah Mada, dan Politeknik Negeri Semarang. Meanwhile, the Prala hire program is open to cadets from four educational institutions: Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang, Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Pelayaran Jakarta, Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Makassar, dan Politeknik Pelayaran Surabaya.

Pertamina Foundation, which has extensive experience managing more than 15 scholarship programs, such as the Sobat Bumi Scholarship from 黑料不打烊 Pertamina (Persero), organizes this program. President Director of Pertamina Foundation, Agus Mashud S. Asngari, said that the Crewing Talent Scouting scholarship will have selection stages aimed at producing outstanding and skilled marine officers for PIS.

"From the initial stages of administrative selection, academic potential tests, TOEIC, psychometric tests, health checks, and interviews through to the contracts signing, PF will ensure that PIS acquires global crewing talent capable of supporting PIS in becoming a leading marine logistics company in Asia and internationally," said Agus.

In line, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, stated that the Crewing Talent Scouting Scholarship is a concrete commitment to the Pertamina Group’s synergy in developing human resources (HR), especially among the younger generation, which will significantly impact economic growth and the advancement of the national maritime industry. This program is also part of Pertamina’s efforts to support the government's Asta Cita goals of producing quality human resources and improving public welfare.
