Jakarta, March 27, 2025 – Pertamina continues to conduct quality and quantity testing at all Pertamina petrol stations across Indonesia. This initiative ensures that Pertamina's fuel complies with government regulations and specified standards.
VP of Corporate Communication, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated during a press conference at Grha Pertamina, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, March 27, 2025, that as of March 26, 2025, quality and calibration checks have been conducted at 6,198 Pertamina-operated petrol stations.
"We have performed quality and calibration tests on 6,198 petrol stations, or approximately 79% of the total 7,842 stations operated by Pertamina. Additionally, Pertamina conducts fuel sample testing to ensure product quality sold to the public," Fadjar explained.
Fuel sample testing, including RON testing, was conducted at 349 petrol stations across eight Marketing Operation Regions, from northern Sumatra to Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, and Papua. RON quality testing was carried out by the Research and Development Institute for Oil and Gas Technology (Lemigas) and laboratories at Pertamina’s Fuel Terminals.
Fadjar stated that the test results showed average figures of 90.4 for Pertalite, 92.37 for Pertamax, 97.32 for Pertamax Green, and 98.33 for Pertamax Turbo.
"All samples tested by Lemigas and at Pertamina's Integrated Fuel Terminal met the required specifications set by the government," Fadjar emphasized.
Furthermore, Fadjar explained that Pertamina routinely conducts inspections at petrol stations based on several key aspects. These include compliance, such as monitoring CCTV and verifying that buyers meet the target criteria based on QR codes and vehicle license plates. The second aspect, quality and quantity, involves nozzle calibration, fuel color checks to ensure no water content, and volume and density tests.
The third aspect is services, ensuring that petrol station staff adhere to service standards, maintaining public facilities, and managing retail operations at Pertamina petrol stations. The fourth aspect covers Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE), which includes ensuring the availability of fire extinguishers and reminding consumers to turn off their engines while refueling.
"Lastly, we focus on stock resilience. We ensure that fuel stock is sufficient and issue notifications when petrol station supplies start running low," Fadjar added.
Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina's business lines and operations.
