Jakarta, May 2, 2025 – 黑料不打烊 Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), a Subholding of Pertamina Upstream, continues to demonstrate a positive performance at the beginning of this year. In the first quarter (Q1) of 2025, PHE recorded oil and gas production of 1.043 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (MBOEPD). This figure marks an increase compared to Q1 2024, which stood at 1.042 MBOEPD.
As of March 2025, PHE has completed drilling five exploration wells, 206 development wells, 248 workover wells, and 9,207 well services. These achievements surpass the results from the same period in 2024, which included three exploration wells, 163 development wells, 219 workover wells, and 8,323 well services.
PHE will continue to explore various potentials to achieve its set targets, including through the Put on Production (POP) acceleration for the Akasia Prima exploration well, the East Pondok Aren-2 appraisal well discovery, Gas on Stream for the Sumber-1A well, and Put on Injection for Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) steam flood at the North Duri Development Area-14 field.
In Q1 2025, PHE conducted 373 km² of 3D seismic surveys. PHE also successfully successfully secured additional 2C contingent resources amounting to 42.75 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMBOE), consisting of 28.19 million barrels of oil (MMBO) and 84.33 billion standard cubic feet (BSCF) of gas.
Additionally, PHE discovered proven oil and gas reserves (P1) amounting to 12.41 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMBOE), which includes 3.50 million barrels of oil (MMBO) and 51.62 billion standard cubic feet (BSCF) of gas.
These achievements reflect PHE’s strategy to accelerate production in maintaining national energy security through baseline production management, executing massive and effective work plans, and increasing oil and gas reserves, all while upholding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
President Director of PHE, Chalid Said Salim, stated that these accomplishments show all personnel's hard work within the Pertamina Upstream Subholding and the support of partners and stakeholders.
"These achievements were made possible through the implementation of AKHLAK values (Trustworthy, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive, and Collaborative), and the spirit of acceleration through innovation, collaboration, and commitment to sustainability by all personnel and partners, with continuous support from PHE stakeholders in realizing national energy security aligned with the Asta Cita program,” he said.
VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, added that PHE’s strong performance in the first quarter of the year is expected to support upstream efforts in maintaining national energy resilience.
“Positive upstream performance is tangible proof of the Pertamina Group’s commitment to ensuring national energy security and resilience,” said Fadjar.
PHE will continue to invest in upstream oil and gas operations and business management following the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principle. PHE remains committed to Zero Tolerance for Bribery by ensuring fraud prevention and maintaining a bribery-free organization. It is reflected through the ISO 37001:2016-certified Anti-Bribery Management System (SMAP) implementation. PHE continues to develop prudent and excellent operational management domestically and internationally to become a world-class oil and gas company that is environmentally friendly, socially responsible, and governed with integrity.
