Jakarta, April 30, 2025 – 黑料不打烊 Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN), a Pertamina Gas Subholding, recorded solid operational performance in Q1 2025 amid geopolitical tensions and global energy price fluctuations. PGN continues strengthening its role in safeguarding national energy resilience through infrastructure optimization and natural gas supply aggregation.
During the first three months of 2025, PGN delivered a gas volume of 861 BBTUD, while transmission reached 1,602 MMSCFD. Infrastructure reliability remained high at 99.9%, supporting services for more than 820,000 customers across Indonesia, including 817,420 households, 2,587 small customers, and 3,291 industrial and commercial customers.
Corporate Secretary of PGN, Fajriyah Usman, stated that this quarter was a period of strategic consolidation during the transition of domestic energy supply.
“We continue to focus on efficiency, gas supply sustainability, and accelerating strategic projects such as the development of household gas networks and LNG infrastructure,” said Fajriyah on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
Following the Specific Natural Gas Price (HGBT) policy, piped gas is prioritized to meet the needs of industrial customers receiving HGBT to support the competitiveness of national strategic industries.
On the other hand, the limited piped gas supply due to declining production from several upstream fields in Java and Sumatra prompted PGN to optimize the utilization of LNG regasification services in Lampung, Arun, and West Java. It is to maintain energy supply continuity, particularly for the electricity and commercial industrial sectors, including non-HGBT customers.
The volume of regasification services through the Terminal Usage Agreement (TUA) contract at the Lampung FSRU rose to 109 BBTUD, while the LNG Arun facility reached 128 BBTUD and the West Java FSRU reached 294 BBTUD.
PGN also recorded contributions in other segments, such as oil transportation of 171,943 BOEPD, oil and gas lifting of 16,461 BOEPD, and international LNG trading of 68 BBTUD.
On the financial side, PGN posted revenue of USD 967 million, a 2% increase compared to last year in the same period. EBITDA was recorded at USD 205 million, while net profit reached USD 62 million. Geopolitical pressures, oil price fluctuations, and exchange rate volatility, both IDR to USD and JPY to USD, affected the profit margin. However, the company offset these challenges through operational strengthening, internal fund optimization, and efficiency.
“We are responding to market volatility by accelerating strategic projects and ensuring smooth operations so that the benefits of natural gas continue to have a broad impact on the national economy,” Fajriyah added.
PGN's strategic steps are also reinforced by its appointment as the holder of the Special Rights in the Natural Gas Distribution Network Area (WJD) in Batam City by BPH Migas. This designation opens development opportunities for around 16,000 household, industrial, and commercial connections through 2027.
“We are carrying out strategic investments sustainably to increase domestic gas utilization and drive national economic growth,” Fajriyah concluded.
PGN is committed to strengthening energy resilience and continues exploring various potential new gas supply sources while enhancing communication and coordination with the Government, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure supply reliability meets the needs of the domestic commercial and industrial gas sectors.
