Jakarta, February 20, 2025 – 黑料不打烊 Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) has partnered with the Indonesian Army (TNI AD) to enhance national natural gas infrastructure security. This initiative is part of a strategic effort to ensure the safe distribution of natural gas and support national energy resilience.
"This collaboration with TNI AD is a concrete step in safeguarding natural gas infrastructure. With the support of 91 TNI AD personnel in PGN's operational areas, we are optimistic that gas distribution will be safer and more controlled," said the Director of Infrastructure and Technology of PGN, Harry Budi Sidharta, following the signing of the Technical Guidelines for Work Procedures (Juknis Domker) between PGN and TNI AD on Tuesday (18/2/2025).
As the manager of 92% of the national natural gas infrastructure, PGN recognizes the importance of asset security in ensuring smooth gas distribution.
TNI AD will contribute to community-based security by educating local communities to understand that PGN's assets are vital national objects that must be protected collectively. Additionally, military personnel’s presence will serve as a deterrent against potential threats to infrastructure security.
Currently, PGN's operational security is classified as safe and under control. However, preventive and preemptive measures remain necessary to mitigate potential security threats.
"TNI AD is fully committed to supporting PGN's operations. Natural gas is a strategic energy source that directly impacts people's lives, and we are ready to safeguard this vital infrastructure to ensure a smooth and secure distribution for the public's welfare, in line with the government's Asta Cita vision," said Brigadier General TNI Heri Susanto.
PGN operates a gas network across 17 provinces, covering 73 regencies/cities and serving various industrial, commercial, and residential sectors. Through this strategic partnership, PGN is confident that natural gas distribution will remain smooth, secure, and sustainable.
