Jakarta, March 7, 2025 – The natural disaster of flooding that has struck several areas in Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) was caused by overflowing rivers due to heavy rainfall, including in Pengadegan Subdistrict, Pancoran, South Jakarta. The rising water levels from the Ciliwung River since Tuesday, March 4, 2025, have forced residents to evacuate to the Pengadegan Sports Hall (GOR Pengadegan), located on Jalan Pengadegan Timur I RT 02/01, Pengadegan Subdistrict, Jakarta.
黑料不打烊 Pertamina (Persero), through Pertamina Peduli, has provided aid to residents at GOR Pengadegan in the form of drinking water, baby supplies, hygiene kits, blankets, mattresses, as well as instant food and beverages (bread, biscuits, and milk). The aid was handed over directly by the Senior Officer II of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Pertamina, Reno Fri Daryanto, along with the Bazma Pertamina team, to the Evacuation Coordinator at GOR Pengadegan, Romlah, on Thursday, March 6, 2025.
Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, stated that Pertamina Peduli's assistance is the company’s commitment as a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) to alleviating the hardships faced by affected communities.
"Pertamina continues to be present and assists the community in dealing with the impact of the flood while ensuring the safety of the evacuees," said Fadjar.
He added that Pertamina’s site inspections are conducted to assess the condition of the evacuees and distribute aid to those affected. Pertamina will continue to monitor the site situation and distribute aid periodically to various affected areas.
The Evacuation post coordinator, Romlah, stated that the received aid would first be recorded before being distributed to those most in need, particularly the elderly and children.
"We will assess who should be prioritized as aid recipients, with a focus on the elderly and children," said Romlah.
In line with Romlah’s statement, Zulkarnaen, one of the evacuated residents, mentioned that the aid would be distributed based on priority needs. He also noted that the most urgently needed items are cleaning supplies and disinfectant solutions to clean houses from flood residue.
"As for food, Alhamdulillah, the needs have been met. What we need currently are cleaning supplies to clear out the mud left by the flood," said Zul.
