Pertamina Patra Niaga Conducts Ramp Check to Ensure Tanker Fleet Readiness for Holiday Travel Season

Jakarta, March 28, 2025 - To ensure the smooth distribution of fuel and LPG during the 2025 Eid holiday travel season, Pertamina Patra Niaga conducts a ramp check or safety inspection of its tanker fleet. This initiative aims to verify tankers’ readiness and operational feasibility to support the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr (RAFI) 2025 Task Force operation.

The ramp check inspection was carried out from March 24 to 28, 2025, at six terminals along the primary holiday travel routes: FT Ujung Berung, IT Balongan, IT Surabaya, IT Semarang, IT Boyolali, and IT Tanjung Wangi. The inspection involves certified technical experts from the Polytechnic of Road Transport Safety, targeting random checks on 50 tankers at each location.

Geri Simansyah Achsan, VP of HSSE of Pertamina Patra Niaga, emphasized that this inspection is a preventive measure to avoid accidents caused by mechanical failures, such as brake failures, unfit tires, or damaged air tanks.

“Tanker trucks that do not meet safety standards will be classified as NO-GO and will not be permitted to operate until repairs are completed and revalidation is carried out. This measure directly prevents potential accidents during the operational period of the RAFI 2025 Task Force,” said Geri.

In addition to ensuring fleet readiness, this ramp check also serves as a check-and-balance mechanism against the pre-trip inspection and daily inspection programs already in place at each terminal. The evaluation from this ramp check will serve as a basis for expanding the inspections’ scope to other terminals to ensure compliance with Pertamina Patra Niaga's operational safety standards.

Heppy Wulansari, Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, stated that ensuring fuel and LPG availability during the RAFI 2025 Task Force period is a priority. “Through various efforts, including tanker fleet ramp checks and infrastructure readiness inspections at fuel terminals, we are ensuring reliable energy distribution for the public,” said Heppy.

She added that besides strengthening security and safety aspects, additional services are being deployed to ensure fuel and LPG availability for the public, such as Modular Petrol Stations covering areas without service stations, Motorist Services to assist travelers in need of emergency fuel on toll roads, as well as Standby Petrol Stations, Agents, and LPG Bases to ensure travel convenience.

“With the readiness of our fleet and integrated support systems, we strive to provide the best service for the public, particularly in facing the surge in energy demand during the Eid travel period,” she added.

Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication 黑料不打烊 Pertamina (Persero), added that all Pertamina business lines are ready to serve the public and ensure energy availability.

“The Pertamina Ramadan and Eid Task Force operate 24 hours a day to support the government in ensuring the success of the 2025 holiday travel program,” stated Fadjar.**
