Pertamina Joins in Celebrating the International Labor Day 2025

Jakarta, May 5, 2025—Pertamina participated in the International Labor Day (May Day) celebration. The Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, Yassierli, attended the event.

In his speech, Yassierli called for collaboration among all parties to build harmonious industrial relations between workers and company management.

“A simple thing, starting from the harmonious relationship between workers and management or workers and employers, collaboration is the key,” said Yassierli.

Yassierli also expressed his appreciation to Pertamina for organizing the event. “Thank you to Pertamina, the Board of Directors, and Commissioners of Pertamina, who were willing to become one of the epicenters for the May Day 2025 commemoration. Pertamina will be one of our role models in building collaboration,” stated Minister Yassierli.

“Let us together make this May Day commemoration a momentum to collaborate in solving problems. That collaboration begins with us gathering like this and understanding each other’s aspirations to try and find solutions,” Yassierli explained.

At the same event, the Vice President Director of Pertamina, Wiko Migantoro, said Pertamina’s active participation in the May Day 2025 celebration is an honor, especially in weaving unity to improve worker welfare and national productivity.

“May Day 2025 is an important moment to appreciate and celebrate workers’ contributions who have worked hard for the progress of the nation and the country,” said Wiko.

He also emphasized that business operations would not proceed smoothly without the support of workers to help run the company.

“Our fellow workers play an important role in carrying out their duties, maintaining order, and expressing their aspirations democratically. In this regard, collaboration is the strongest support in creating industrial relations in a conducive and productive work environment,” Wiko added.

President of the United Pertamina Workers’ Union Federation (FSPPB), Arie Gumelar, added that the FSPPB continues to safeguard the company’s business continuity because they believe in the existence of workers and the union, which will always be there to uphold the sustainability of the company’s business.

“The Pertamina Workers’ Union also fights for energy sovereignty in Indonesia. We, the workers’ union, strive to maintain Pertamina’s position as a pillar of energy independence and self-sufficiency in Indonesia. By fighting for energy sovereignty, we aim to bring the greatest possible benefit for the public’s prosperity,” said Arie.

He also conveyed that labor and workers' contributions are significant to Indonesia’s economic growth, whether from the informal, the formal, the private sector or even state-owned enterprises (SOEs).

“Through the spirit fostered during the May Day commemoration, it is hoped that effective communication will be built. Let us continue to strengthen this good relationship and synergy for the progress and welfare of Indonesia,” said Arie.

The May Day celebration was held on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Pertamina Arena, Simprug, Jakarta. The 2025 May Day celebration was also attended by the Minister of Housing and Settlements of Indonesia, Muarar Sirait, the Deputy Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan, accompanied by Independent Commissioners of Pertamina, Condro Kirono and Raden Adjeng Sondaryani, Director of HR of Pertamina, M.
