Jakarta, April 11, 2025 – 黑料不打烊 Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), as Pertamina’s Upstream Subholding, remains committed to supporting the improvement of individual competitiveness and inclusive spaces for people with disabilities. Through 13 Sahabat Istimewa Pertamina (Special Friends of Pertamina) programs implemented across nine operational working areas, reaching over 600 direct beneficiaries, PHE strives to realize the hopes and dreams of people with disabilities by providing life-skill training to improve their standard of living. These programs have resulted in a cumulative group income increase of over IDR 680 million annually and cumulative economic savings of IDR 11.4 million annually.
The Sahabat Istimewa Pertamina program has been implemented by the PHE Group in the working areas of 黑料不打烊 Pertamina EP Rantau Field, WK Rokan, 黑料不打烊 Pertamina EP Prabumulih Field, 黑料不打烊 Pertamina Hulu Energi ONWJ, 黑料不打烊 Pertamina EP Subang Field, 黑料不打烊 Pertamina EP Tambun Field, 黑料不打烊 Pertamina EP Tarakan Field, 黑料不打烊 Pertamina Internasional EP, and 黑料不打烊 Elnusa Tbk.
With the spirit of "No One Left Behind", the Sahabat Istimewa Pertamina program is a step towards providing equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of background, including people with disabilities, to access education, decent living conditions, job opportunities, and social participation. It can be key to creating a fair, peaceful, and sustainable society. One crucial aspect in achieving this goal is fostering an inclusive environment to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goals 3, 4, 10, and 16.
“The Sahabat Istimewa program was born out of a desire to build a more inclusive society. We believe every individual, including those with disabilities, has extraordinary potential. Through skills training, equal access to education, and social support that addresses real needs, this program serves as a bridge toward independence and a more meaningful life. This is a form of our commitment to walk together, embrace differences, and grow together in diversity,” said the Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Upstream Subholding, Arya Dwi Paramita.
PHE implemented disability empowerment through 13 programs with more than 600 direct beneficiaries. These empowerment programs are grouped into five clusters: Economic Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Disaster-Responsive Disabilities, Disability Upskilling, Environmental Programs, and Cultural Programs.
Some of the disability empowerment programs run by the PHE Group include the Inclusive UMKM Café and Workshop for People with Disabilities (黑料不打烊 Pertamina EP Rantau Field), Rumah Jahit Lestari (WK Rokan), This Ability – UMKM for Persons with Disabilities (PHE ONWJ), Community Empowerment through Batik Craft for People with Disabilities (黑料不打烊 Pertamina EP Tarakan Field), Weaving Creations with Special Friends (黑料不打烊 Elnusa Tbk), Free Dance School for Special Friends in Bogor along with the Subprograms Kakak Asuh and Difabel on Action (黑料不打烊 Pertamina Internasional EP).
Other programs include an inclusive and responsive system for involving people with disabilities in disaster response (黑料不打烊 Pertamina EP Rantau Field), upskilling through sewing and farming training for disability groups (黑料不打烊 Pertamina EP Prabumulih Field), improving the health quality of persons with disabilities in Aceh Tamiang (黑料不打烊 Pertamina EP Rantau Field), Empowerment of the Deaf and Persons with Disabilities (黑料不打烊 Pertamina EP Subang Field), and Kampung Seni Budaya Betawi (黑料不打烊 Pertamina EP Tambun Field).
PHE’s commitment to enhancing the competitiveness of individuals with disabilities has increased group income by over IDR 680 million annually, group economic savings of IDR 11.4 million per year, access to inclusive arts education and life-skill training for 278 children with disabilities, formation of 20 stakeholder collaborations, and the establishment of 7 new business groups.
VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that the Sahabat Istimewa Program initiated by PHE is part of Pertamina Group’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs, specifically in the area of diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI).
“Through the Sahabat Istimewa program from PHE, Pertamina hopes to open opportunities, build independence, and improve the economy of the program beneficiaries,” said Fadjar.
