Medan, March 23, 2025 – Pertamina has ensured the readiness and security of energy supplies in the North Sumatra region ahead of the homecoming season and Eid al-Fitr 2025. Representing Pertamina Group, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) Director of Infrastructure and Technology, Harry Budi Sidharta, personally inspected the preparations alongside the Head of BPH Migas, Erika Retnowati, in Medan on Sunday, March 23, 2025.
The inspection covered several key locations, including the Fredy LPG Distribution Center, COCO Petrol Station, PGN Gas Management Center, and the Medan Fuel Terminal. This visit was part of the Ramadan & Eid al-Fitr 2025 Task Force (Satgas) implementation, following the directive of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, who emphasized ensuring the government’s energy services remain available.
Regarding natural gas demand, Director of Infrastructure and Technology of PGN, Harry Budi Sidharta, stated there is a projected increase of 9.5% in household gas consumption in the Medan Area through the gas network (jargas) in preparation for the Eid holiday.
"We have prepared two aspects: gas volume and infrastructure. Regarding volume, we have ensured supply through pipeline gas, supplemented by LNG supply from Arun Lhokseumawe. On the infrastructure side, we have conducted monitoring and pre-maintenance operations to ensure our infrastructure is ready for gas distribution," he stated.
PGN has also deployed a 24-hour emergency response team to address any disruptions to infrastructure in the field. The public can report issues via the contact center at 135.
"We are ready 24 hours a day to follow up on reports. We hope that our Task Force team remains vigilant, as we must serve the public during the holiday season when they require energy for cooking and other household activities," he added.
In addition to inspecting gas readiness, Erika Retnowati, Head of BPH Migas, reviewed Pertamina’s fuel and LPG supply preparations. Erika confirmed that the national fuel stock remains highly secure, with an average coverage of 20 days, while LPG reserves are sufficient for 11 days. Besides checking the quantity, she also inspected the fuel quality in circulation with Lemigas.
"The fuel and LPG stock is more than adequate for the period leading up to Eid. Earlier, we also visited petrol stations to check the quality of fuels such as Pertalite, Pertamax, and Pertamax Turbo with Lemigas. The test results confirmed that all fuel fulfills the criteria and requirements set by the Directorate General of Oil and Gas. Therefore, the public does not need to worry about the fuel quality provided by Pertamina. We also verified the volume accuracy—when dispensing one liter from the nozzle, the actual output was precise, and in some cases, even slightly more than one liter," she explained.
Beyond ensuring supply resilience, Pertamina, through ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Pertamina Patra Niaga, provides additional services during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr Task Force period. In the Northern Sumatra Region, they have prepared 287 petrol stations operating 24 hours, 933 LPG agents, 49 standby fuel tank trucks, 11 Pertamina Siaga kiosks, 32 mobile fuel delivery units (Motorists), and 1 MyPertamina Lounge location.
