Gresik, January 12, 2025 – The women’s volleyball team Jakarta Pertamina Enduro (JPE) secured their first victory in the 2025 Proliga season by defeating Jakarta Electric PLN in a commanding 3-0 win (25-18, 25-17, 25-15). However, on Sunday (12/1), JPE conceded to Popsivo Polwan with a 1-3 loss (25-21, 13-25, 19-25, 18-25) in a fierce battle at GOR Tri Dharma, Gresik.
The opening win against Jakarta Electric PLN marked a significant momentum for JPE. Displaying dominance from the start, JPE executed a disciplined strategy, demonstrating solid defense and aggressive attacks. The team's excellent performance in blocking and counterattacks made it difficult for their opponents to score.
From the outset of the first set, JPE displayed high energy with sharp spikes and robust defense. Key player Junaida Santi spearheaded the attacks with precise spikes that were nearly unstoppable. Meanwhile, setter Tisya Amallya played a pivotal role with smart ball distribution, creating opportunities for the spikers to execute decisive strikes.
In the second set, while Jakarta Electric PLN initially put up a strong fight, JPE’s consistently leveraged powerful serves and combination attacks disrupted their opponents' rhythm. This momentum continued to the third set, where quick attacks from the front line and back-row spikes sealed JPE’s victory.
The JPE’s Coach, Bulent Karslioglu, attributed the win to the team’s hard work in adapting from previous matches. “We addressed some weaknesses from earlier games, especially the consistency and mental toughness. The team played more cohesively and capitalized on every opportunity during attacks. We still have a long way to go, but this victory provides a solid foundation to improve in the upcoming matches,” Bulent said.
“Our second foreign player, Elena Samoilenko, has brought a new dimension to our game, particularly in defense. Her contributions in receiving and defending have been instrumental in balancing against opponents' attacks,” he added.
Team captain Tisya Amallya Putri emphasized that this result is a significant motivation to rise again. “The match in Semarang taught us valuable lessons. We have evaluated our gameplay, particularly in coordination and taking bold initiatives. Today, we proved our bounce back and regained confidence as a competitive team,” Tisya said.
“We realize that small details in our gameplay can make a big difference. That is why, after the match in Semarang, we focused on improving fundamentals like team communication and attack effectiveness. We believe this evaluation will continue to yield positive results,” Bulent added.
In their second match against Popsivo Polwan, JPE started confidently by winning the first set. However, Popsivo took control in the following sets.
“Even so, we will not give up. This defeat is a valuable lesson for our future matches,” Tisya stated.
Bulent further remarked that these two matches provided key insights into the team’s development. “The win against Jakarta Electric PLN showed our great potential, while the loss to Popsivo highlighted the need to improve our on-court consistency. We will work hard to prepare for the upcoming matches,” he said.
“We will face other strong teams, but we believe in our abilities. With solid teamwork and spirit, we can continue delivering our best,” Tisya concluded.
Chef de Mission of JPE, Werry Prayogi, also expressed his appreciation for the players’ fighting spirit and the incredible support from fans at the start of JPE’s journey. “We are very grateful for the unwavering support from JPE fans in Gresik. Their enthusiasm has been an additional motivation for the team to keep fighting. This victory and loss are part of our journey toward achieving our season goals,” Werry said.
JPE remains optimistic about their upcoming matches in the 2025 Proliga. Comprehensive evaluations and thorough preparations will be key for the team to maintain its positive momentum throughout the remainder of the competition. **
