Heading Towards Golden Indonesia 2045, This Is Pertamina's Contribution to the Education Sector

Jakarta, May 2, 2025 – 黑料不打烊 Pertamina (Persero) continues to support the government's efforts in improving the quality of Human Resources (HR) through various Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs, ranging from the Sobat Bumi Scholarship, Pertamina Goes to Campus, the Pertamuda Seed and Scale innovation competition, the Sekolah Energi Berdikari (SEB), and Universitas Pertamina.

Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication of 黑料不打烊 Pertamina (Persero), expressed Pertamina’s commitment as a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) to contribute to strengthening and developing human resources, both through formal and non-formal education to support President Prabowo’s Asta Cita program.

“Pertamina is actively improving human resources quality to support the government's program towards Golden Indonesia 2045,” said Fadjar.

Through its TJSL program, Pertamina provides the Sobat Bumi scholarship to outstanding students. Managed by the Pertamina Foundation since 2011, the number of Sobat Bumi scholarship recipients has reached 5,316. In addition to receiving access to education, scholarship recipients play a sustainability role, such as being initiators of the Sobat Bumi Desa Energi Berdikari (Energy Independent Village). It includes activities such as planting mangroves and land trees, as well as waste processing.

“The Sobat Bumi scholarship is aimed at students who excel academically, are active in social or environmental activities, and are concerned for the environment. The scholarship recipients’ role is expected to impact the environment and society directly,” he added.

According to Fadjar, Pertamina is also actively conducting energy transition education and capacity building for students at various universities in Indonesia through the Pertamina Goes to Campus (PGTC) program. This program includes talk shows or discussions, exhibitions, and essay and video competitions.

“This program is intended to provide an understanding of Pertamina's role and the energy transition while also drawing out innovative ideas from the young generation,” he said.

As part of developing young talent to create innovative business ideas, Fadjar stated that Pertamina also organizes an annual start-up competition called Pertamuda Seed and Scale. In 2024, 3,245 young innovators from 696 universities nationwide registered.

“Pertamina consistently supports the presence of start-ups in Indonesia by providing opportunities for young entrepreneurs to access funding,” Fadjar added.

At the primary and secondary education levels, Pertamina also promotes energy transition practices through the Sekolah Energi Berdikari (SEB) program. In its second year of implementation, the program has educated 5,512 students and 551 teachers across Indonesia.

In addition, Pertamina also has a variety of other youth programs and has established Universitas Pertamina to prepare the younger generation to become future leaders of the nation.

Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina's business lines and operations.**
