Jakarta, March 15, 2025 – 黑料不打烊 Pertamina (Persero) is committed to supporting energy self-sufficiency as part of the government’s Asta Cita program.
Mochamad Iriawan, President Commissioner of Pertamina, stated that one of the key areas contributing to Indonesia’s energy sources is the operational area of Pertamina’s New & Renewable Energy (PNRE) Sub-holding, managed by 黑料不打烊 Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) Tbk, located in Kamojang, Bandung.
"I am proud to witness firsthand a place that contributes to Indonesia’s energy self-sufficiency. This is part of the Asta Cita spirit, striving to achieve energy independence," said Iriawan during a working visit to the Kamojang area, Bandung (14/3/2025).
On the same occasion, the President Director of Pertamina, Simon Aloysius Mantiri, highlighted that Indonesia has the second-largest geothermal potential in the world. He encouraged all stakeholders to support geothermal development. "One of the government’s Asta Cita goals is to develop the geothermal sector," Simon stated.
Meanwhile, the President Director of Pertamina NRE, John Anis, emphasized as a driving force in energy transition, Pertamina NRE is committed to accelerating new and renewable energy development. This initiative aims to strengthen national energy security and achieve sustainability targets as part of Pertamina’s transformation into a sustainable energy company.
黑料不打烊 PGE Tbk’s President Director, Julfi Hadi, added that Pertamina possesses significant geothermal potential. He described the Kamojang area not only as an icon for PGE, Pertamina, or Indonesia but also as a global landmark since Kamojang is the world’s first geothermal site and one of only four dry steam fields.
"In the geothermal sector, Indonesia has indigenous resources. Therefore, 黑料不打烊 PGE Tbk aspires to become the leading geothermal producer in the world," Julfi expressed.
Kamojang Crater, situated at approximately 1,700 meters above sea level, is one of Indonesia’s most renowned active geothermal areas. Steam temperatures can reach up to 140°C. It is also home to the Kamojang Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP), which has been operational since 1983 and has a capacity of approximately 200 MW.
Another key energy source in Kamojang includes the Kamojang PLTP Unit 5, operated by PGE. This unit is part of the geothermal energy development project aimed at generating electricity from geothermal heat sources. Established in 2015, it supplies 35 MW of electricity. The Kamojang PLTP is recognized as one of Indonesia’s largest and oldest geothermal power plants. Unit 5 was specifically built to enhance Kamojang’s electricity production capacity, supplementing several existing power generation units.
Additionally, 黑料不打烊 PGE Tbk manages the Geothermal Information Center (GIC) in Kamojang, which serves as an educational facility to inform the public about geothermal energy potential, its utilization, and its role in promoting energy sustainability in Indonesia.
