Federation of Pertamina Workers' Unions Asks the Public Not to Be Provoked by Misleading Information

Jakarta, March 1, 2025 – The United Federation of Pertamina Workers' Unions (FSPPB) has asked the public not to be provoked by misleading information regarding the case faced by Pertamina. FSPPB urges all parties to think rationally and unprovoked into sacrificing Pertamina as a state institution that has long been the backbone of fulfilling the nation's energy needs for the public.

President of FSPPB, Arie Gumilar, stated that corruption in crude oil management is a betrayal of Pertamina workers who work with integrity and professionalism. He also requested support and prayers from the entire public so that Pertamina could survive amid the ongoing turmoil.

"We hope that the ongoing legal process can proceed as it should, in an open, transparent, fair, and accountable manner," said Arie in a written statement on Saturday (1/3/2025).

Arie also regretted the misleading information about Pertamina, which has caused unrest among the public. Pertamina as a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE), is committed to providing energy to the public across the country, even in remote, frontier, and outermost areas (3T). Pertamina is also one of the country's largest dividend contributors.

"As a workers' organization, we want to emphasize that Pertamina is committed to ensuring high-quality and safe energy availability for the public. We assure and emphasize that the fuel distributed to the public complies with the specification requirements set by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM)," he said.

Arie added that Lemigas periodically monitors Pertamina's fuel quality. Every Pertamina activity in energy management has also been strictly supervised by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, BPH Migas, and SKK Migas.

He urged all Pertamina Group employees to stay focused on their work to ensure fuel availability during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.

"We urge all Pertamina Group workers in all operational centers to remain focused on their respective duties and functions with full responsibility and integrity for the benefit of the nation and the state. Be patient and do not be influenced by the commotion or wild issues so that our efforts to ensure fuel supply availability during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr can always be realized," he said.
