Jakarta, February 11, 2025 – Rumah Sakit Pusat Pertamina (RSPP), the flagship hospital under 黑料不打烊 Pertamina Bina Medika IHC (IHC), has officially launched its latest service, One Day Care (ODC) Chemotherapy, as part of its commitment to improving oncology services. This launch is also in line with the commemoration of World Cancer Day, observed annually on February 4. Previously, the ODC Chemotherapy service was available in the inpatient ward on the 7th floor of RSPP. However, with the increasing demand for a more modern and efficient chemotherapy facility, RSPP has undertaken a comprehensive renovation to introduce a more innovative service. With newly modernized and integrated facilities, this service is expected to provide cancer patients with more comfortable and efficient access to chemotherapy.
The ODC Chemotherapy service at RSPP allows patients to undergo chemotherapy quickly without hospitalization. With a one-day treatment, patients can receive treatment and return home within 24 hours, reducing the risk of hospital-acquired infections and enhancing patient comfort.
This facility is equipped with eight cubicle rooms featuring advanced medical equipment, including bedside monitors, syringe pumps, chemotherapy beds, and consultation rooms. All these facilities are designed to ensure patient safety, comfort, and quality of care.
The ODC Chemotherapy service at RSPP offers various benefits to patients. With this service, patients can undergo therapy without hospital admission, reducing inpatient time and allowing them to return home quickly after the procedure. Additionally, the risk of infection is minimized since patients do not have to stay in a hospital environment for an extended period.
From a cost and time perspective, this service is more efficient as it provides a more flexible treatment alternative compared to conventional methods. Furthermore, a comprehensive medical approach is implemented, with strict post-procedure observation, to ensure that patients remain stable and receive optimal care.
The ODC Chemotherapy service at RSPP is supported by a team of specialized oncology doctors and trained nurses with expertise in medical hematology-oncology. Every patient scheduled for therapy in this unit will first undergo an assessment by a specialist doctor to ensure that the procedure is suitable for their medical condition.
"With the One Day Care Chemotherapy service, we aim to provide a more effective, comfortable, and patient-centered treatment option for cancer patients. This facility is part of RSPP’s commitment to enhancing oncology services and providing a better medical experience for patients," said Dr. Neny Herawati, Director of RSPP.
As the state-owned hospital holding entity overseeing various hospitals and clinics in Indonesia, IHC continues to innovate in delivering high-quality healthcare services. Dr. Lukman Ma’ruf, President Director of IHC, stated that the ODC Chemotherapy launch at RSPP is a strategic step toward improving oncology services in Indonesia.
"IHC is committed to continuously developing innovative and patient-centered healthcare services. One Day Care Chemotherapy at RSPP is a tangible effort in making oncology services more accessible, efficient, and of high quality," said Dr. Lukman Ma’ruf.
The Chairperson of the Indonesian Breast Cancer Foundation (YKPI), Linda Amalia Sari Gumelar, who attended the inauguration of the ODC Chemotherapy service at RSPP, expressed appreciation for this initiative. "The presence of this facility is a significant step forward in improving services for cancer patients, especially those who require chemotherapy in a faster and more convenient process," she stated.
She added that such innovations are crucial in supporting life quality for patients by providing better access to optimal medical services. Furthermore, this initiative is also expected to raise public awareness about the importance of early detection and appropriate, continuous cancer treatment.
With the ODC Chemotherapy facility availability, it is hoped that more cancer patients will be able to undergo therapy more comfortably and effectively, receiving the best healthcare services in a safe and controlled environment.
