March 6, 2025 – To ensure that fuel quality meets the established specifications, the South Sulawesi Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), the South Sulawesi Provincial Energy and Mineral Resources Agency (ESDM), the Makassar City Trade and Industry Agency (Disperindag), and the Hiswana Migas DPC 1 Makassar visited the Integrated Terminal (IT) Makassar, owned by Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi. This visit aimed to directly inspect the distribution process and fuel laboratory testing to ensure the quality is maintained before reaching the public.
The Head of the South Sulawesi Provincial ESDM Agency, Andi Eka Prasetya, stated that this visit provided a real insight into the fuel distribution process from the refinery to petrol stations in various areas of South Sulawesi.
“We witnessed firsthand how laboratory testing is conducted, including checking the Research Octane Number (RON) 92 for Pertamax and RON 90 for Pertalite. The product will be rejected if the test results do not meet the standards,” he explained.
The Chairman of Hiswana Migas DPC 1 Makassar, Chairul Aqmal, emphasized that the fuel quality sold at petrol stations still follows Pertamina’s standards.
“We ensure on the ground that Pertamax remains RON 92 and Pertalite remains RON 90. So far, there have been no customer complaints regarding fuel quality,” he said.
Similarly, the Head of the Makassar City Trade and Industry Agency, Arlin Ariesta, appreciated Pertamina’s strict efforts in maintaining fuel quality standards.
“We directly observed the fuel distribution process from the refinery to petrol stations through various laboratory testing stages. If there are any discrepancies, the public can report them through official channels, either to the local government or to Pertamina’s Public Relations,” he added.
Meanwhile, a member of the South Sulawesi DPRD, Achmad Fauzan Guntur, urged the public to continue to trust the fuel quality distributed by Pertamina.
“We ensure that the fuel sold at petrol stations has undergone strict testing and meets the standards. Pertalite has RON 90, while Pertamax has RON 92, following Pertamina’s established specifications. There is no Pertamax with RON 90, as each product has a clear standard,” he stressed.
Area Manager of Communication, Relations & CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi, Fahrougi Andriani Sumampouw, reassures Pertamina’s commitment to maintaining fuel quality and reliability for the public.
“All our fuel products undergo laboratory tests to ensure their quality meets the established standards. If there are inconsistencies, we have a mechanism to follow up on them to ensure customer satisfaction and smooth energy distribution in South Sulawesi,” he stated.
This visit is part of Pertamina’s transparency and commitment to maintaining fuel quality distributed to the public, ensuring that all distribution stages comply with applicable procedures and regulations.**
