Jakarta, April 26, 2025 – Commemorating Kartini Day, honoring a woman who persistently fought for the emancipation and rights of Indonesian women, Pertamina held an Inspiring Talk Show titled Energy for Inspiration at the Fastron Lobby, Grha Pertamina, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
At the Kartini Talk Show, Pertamina presented three strong women as speakers: Natasha Rizky, a public figure; Patricia Yora, a pilot at Pelita Air; and Wahyuningsih, a housekeeper at Grha Pertamina.
Natasha, affectionately known as Caca, expressed that a woman must have a strong fighting spirit because she plays many roles.
"I am writing my third poetry book, besides being a mother of three children and juggling many other jobs. For me, fulfilling these roles requires perseverance and must be meaningful to the people around us," said Caca.
Next, Yora’s profession as a pilot for Pelita Air has been a long journey. For 14 years, Yora has committed herself to being the best among her fellow pilots.
"Pilots are often associated with male-dominated work, but I have proven that women can do it. I have consistently performed my duties with discipline and refused to be treated differently from men. Eventually, I became one of the eight female pilots at Pelita Air. That number is the highest among airlines in Indonesia," Yora explained.
For Yora, nothing is impossible. She has become who she is today because she built a support system in her daily life.
"I have a young child at home, and everyone has responsibilities when I am working. I built this system so I can work with peace of mind. This arrangement also needs to be explained to children so they understand. Thank God, my child now understands and realizes what it means for his mother to be a pilot," Yora said.
Wahyuningsih, affectionately called Cici at her workplace, said that a mother’s struggle to earn a living never ends.
"I decided to work to help increase my family’s income, even though my husband also works. However, the struggle never stops because I want my children to receive the best education possible," Cici explained.
She also stated that family support is very much needed, but as a woman, she cannot neglect her duties as a mother.
"Everything can be done together at home. Sharing responsibilities at home is important, but never forget your duties as a wife to your husband and as a mother to your children," said Cici.
Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, stated that Pertamina continuously promotes women’s empowerment to create and innovate.
"Women’s role who can contribute creatively can be a source of energy and inspiration for fellow workers. Pertamina consistently provides opportunities for female workers to thrive in their respective fields and to strengthen the company’s performance," Fadjar explained.
For Pertamina, Kartini Day is a moment of reflection to continuously ignite the spirit of change and empowerment, especially in the energy sector. Pertamina has created an inclusive and sustainable space where women can continue to grow and remain optimistic.
"The Energy for Inspiration theme invites all women to keep contributing in any field, whether at work or in the broader community, because women, through their hard work, have provided the energy that inspires and brings positive impact anywhere and anytime," Fadjar concluded.
Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement.
