Boosting Healthcare Services in Kalimantan, IHC Pertamina Tanjung Hospital Inaugurates New Inpatient Building and Modern WWTP Facility

Tabalong, April 29, 2025 – Pertamina Tanjung Hospital, a business unit under 黑料不打烊 Pertamina Bina Medika Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC), has officially inaugurated a new inpatient building and a modern Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) as part of its effort to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in South Kalimantan.

The inauguration on Thursday (04/24) marks a significant phase in IHC’s mission as the SOE Hospital Holding to continuously provide high-quality, standardized, and equitable healthcare services nationwide.

The new building increases Pertamina Tanjung Hospital's inpatient capacity to 105 beds from the previous capacity of 53. The new care rooms include the Meranti, Ebony, and Bangkirai rooms designed as modern VVIP suite rooms equipped with integrated service systems.

“This development is a concrete step in meeting the facility standards of type C hospitals within the IHC Group while also addressing the community’s need for representative inpatient services in Tabalong and the Banua Enam region,” said the Director of IHC Medical, Dr. Lia Gardenia Partakusuma.

In addition to the inpatient building, the newly inaugurated 70 m³-capacity WWTP facility uses certified anaerobic-aerobic technology and has received an Operational Worthiness Certificate (SLO) from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. This technology enables highly efficient medical waste processing, producing safe and reusable water for non-medical purposes such as garden irrigation.

“The construction of this WWTP is IHC’s step towards integrating sustainability principles into the healthcare service system. As part of IHC, Pertamina Tanjung Hospital provides facilities that not only meet environmental standards but also support the transformation of medical waste management nationwide,” said Dr. Lia.

Besides the increase in physical capacity, Pertamina Tanjung Hospital has added more medical personnel, nurses, and support staff. In terms of technology, the hospital is now equipped with advanced medical devices such as a CT Scan, integrated Medical Check-Up (MCU) services, and the Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS) to enhance service efficiency and quality.

Pertamina Tanjung Hospital is one of Kalimantan’s golden healthcare triangles in a strategic area that connects two provinces and is designated as a supporting region for the new capital city (IKN). The hospital has become one of the main referral centers in South Kalimantan, offering flagship services such as a 24-hour Emergency Department with complete supporting facilities, a modern radiology installation, and onsite clinics in mining areas through collaboration with industry partners.

Pertamina Tanjung Hospital actively partners with community health centers (puskesmas), health agencies, and local communities through outreach and promotive-preventive programs to reach remote communities.

To strengthen the national health system, Pertamina Tanjung Hospital runs a CSR program titled “Upskilling Posyandu to Reduce Stunting.” The program involves 15 posyandu and 45 cadres trained in early detection, nutrition education, and the provision of nutritious food. With the stunting prevalence rate in Tabalong reaching 18.1% in 2023, the program is expected to strengthen community roles in sustainably reducing stunting rates.
