Bekasi Floods: Pertamina Peduli Mobilizes Aid and Medical Team

Bekasi, March 6, 2025 – 黑料不打烊 Pertamina (Persero), through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) function, has provided emergency disaster relief assistance for the flood-affected areas in Bekasi and its surroundings. The aid, consisting of logistical supplies and essential goods, was handed over to the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bekasi City on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, stated that Pertamina Group took swift and concrete action to support the communities affected by the floods in Bekasi, a key satellite city of Jakarta. Many residents of Bekasi commute to Jakarta for their daily activities, making the floods a disruption to mobility.

"As soon as the local government declared an emergency response status for the floods, Pertamina Group—including its holding company, sub-holdings, and subsidiaries—immediately mobilized assistance for the affected communities. We hope that this aid will help accelerate the recovery process for the residents," Fadjar explained.

The assistance provided was a collaborative effort between 黑料不打烊 Pertamina (Persero), 黑料不打烊 Pertamina Hulu Energi, 黑料不打烊 Kilang Pertamina Internasional, 黑料不打烊 Pertamina Patra Niaga, 黑料不打烊 Pertamina International Shipping, Pertamina Foundation, and 黑料不打烊 Pertamina Bina Medika IHC.

The aid included medical supplies such as medicines, baby diapers, staple foods, and ready-to-eat meals, including rice, biscuits, cooking spices, vegetables, baby food, instant products, cooking oil, milk, and eggs. Additionally, daily necessities were also provided.

This Pertamina Peduli initiative, part of the company's CSR program, aims to support and expedite the recovery of affected residents.

In addition to material aid, Pertamina also deployed 30 Pertamina Peduli volunteers, including a medical team from Pertamedika IHC.

The assistance was well received by the community.

Wiratma, the Acting Secretary of BPBD Bekasi City, expressed appreciation for Pertamina’s proactive approach to offering support.

"I truly appreciate Pertamina for being highly proactive. At the onset of the disaster, we were still focused on evacuation efforts. Then, Pertamina contacted us and confirmed their arrival, which gave us relief. Many essentials are needed by the affected residents, especially food supplies. Pertamina’s aid, particularly food supplies, has been invaluable since public kitchens and food availability were still insufficient," he stated.

Madan, a resident of Kampung Lengkak, Bekasi Jaya Urban Village, East Bekasi District, also conveyed his gratitude for the assistance from Pertamina Group.

"We are currently facing severe flooding. We are grateful for Pertamina’s presence, and we truly appreciate that their team came directly to assist," he said.

Apart from BPBD Bekasi City, the aid distribution also extended to Buni Bakti Village, Kedung Pengawas Village, and Kedungjaya Village—all located in Babelan District, Bekasi Regency. Additionally, aid was provided to Karangligar Village, Telukjambe Barat, Karawang.

Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina's business lines and operations.**
