Bakti BUMN Volunteers Inspire Merauke Students Through Education and Nutritious Food
Merauke, February 19, 2025 – Pertamina, with Bakti BUMN Volunteers Batch VII, distributed nutritious meals and school supplies to students at SD Inpres Gudang Arang, Kamahedoga, Merauke District, Merauke Regency, South Papua.
Fifteen BUMN volunteers collaborated with teachers to prepare 350 nutritious meals for the students using Bright Gas Pertamina. In addition, students received school supplies, including uniforms, backpacks, notebooks, pencils, rulers, colored pencils, and textbooks, to support their learning activities in Indonesia’s easternmost border region.
This program aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita, which aims to strengthen the development of human resources, youth, and education in Indonesia.
The Principal of SD Inpres Gudang Arang, Natalia Maria Remetwa, S.Pd, expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the volunteers’ efforts in providing school infrastructure assistance to support learning activities.
“We would like to thank the Ministry of SOE, Pertamina, and the volunteers for their educational activities and their support in providing uniforms and school supply packages for the students,” Natalia said.
VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that Pertamina and the Bakti BUMN Volunteers carried out this program to provide education, increase students’ interest in school, and build an aspiration tree for their future dreams.
"Hopefully, this initiative will improve the quality of education and young human resources, especially in Indonesia’s eastern border regions," Fadjar said.
Yunus Hukubun, a fifth-grader at SD Inpres Gudang Arang, shared his impressions of the event, "The food is delicious. I was so excited to eat. Thank you also for the new backpack and uniform—it makes me even more eager to go to school," he said.
